Project description: The Arc of the Ozarks is adding an autism clinic in Springfield that nonprofit officials say will fill a need locally for families that often have to drive out of the area for services and can be met with long wait times. An existing building northeast of the Kansas Expressway and Battlefield Road intersection is being upgraded for the project. Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective is serving as the project architect, as well as the engineer for structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing services.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
