Trump blocks Broadcom's bid for Qualcomm

President Donald Trump yesterday blocked Broadcom’s $117 billion bid for chip maker Qualcomm.

In a presidential order, Trump cited national security concerns. He said there's “credible evidence" that if Singapore-based Broadcom buys Qualcomm, it “might take action that threatens to impair the national security of the United States.”

In November, Broadcom CEO Hock Tan visited the White House to support Trump's tax plan and announce its relocation to the United States.
