Sun Solar makes C-suite hire

Posted online

Springfield-based solar energy business Sun Solar LLC has made its second C-suite hire since September.

Jerry Carpenter, who has more than 14 years' experience in the industry, has been appointed as Sun Solar's chief revenue officer, according to a news release issued this week.

"Jerry's extensive experience and proven track record in solar acquisitions and sales organization growth make him the ideal candidate for the role of chief revenue officer," CEO Marc Lee said in the release. "We are confident that his strategic leadership will play a crucial role in advancing Sun Solar's position in the competitive solar energy market."

Lee, too, is new to the company after being hired in September as founder Caleb Arthur's successor, according to past reporting. Arthur has turned his attention toward the manufacturing side of the company.

Carpenter most recently worked for ADT Solar, said Jacques McNeese, Sun Solar marketing manager.

Carpenter's duties as CRO include revenue strategy, overseeing sales operations and spearheading initiatives to grow in the solar energy market, according to the release.

"Sun Solar has established itself as a leader in the solar industry, and I am excited to contribute to the company's continued success," Carpenter said in the release. "I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive revenue growth, expand our market presence, and deliver exceptional value to our clients."

The company last year reached $41.2 million in revenue, a 125% increase from 2021 and 210% over 2020, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. It employs around 250.
