Phelps County Bank hires Springfield market exec

Casey Pyle is Phelps County Bank's new market executive.

Rolla-based Phelps County Bank, which closed this year on the purchase of the YMCA building downtown, has hired a Springfield banker to head up its local efforts.

Casey Pyle has been named the company's market executive, according to a news release. Pyle's LinkedIn profile indicates he started this month with Phelps County Bank and also holds the role of senior vice president, after previously working three years as community president for Simmons Bank.

“Phelps County Bank is unique. There are only a handful of 100% employee-owned banks in the world, and I’m excited to be a part of one," Pyle said in the release. "My first priority is recruitment. And in a community with so many talented bankers, Phelps County Bank’s business model will make my job easier."

Officials with Phelps County Bank previously told Springfield Business Journal the company bought the 62,000-square-foot former YMCA building at 417 S. Jefferson Ave. for $2 million at auction, with plans to invest $4 million in renovations. Ozarks Regional YMCA had listed the building for sale and closed its gym inside the property.

The Jefferson Avenue building is expected to open in 2025, bank officials told SBJ, with plans to seek a temporary space in the meantime. A local office is not currently listed on Phelps County Bank's website.

“We asked if he was available to join us and Casey didn’t hesitate,” Phelps County Bank CEO Dominic DeLuca said in the release. “When Phelps County Bank purchased the YMCA building earlier this year, we made a commitment to support the entire community, but specifically the downtown area. And as we restore that historic location, Casey will help us fill it with outstanding employee-owners.”
