Guaranty Bank named Todd Larsen senior wealth management officer and David Richards wealth management portfolio manager for its newly created wealth management division; both are senior vice president positions. Spending nearly a decade in wealth management with Quad City Bank & Trust, Larsen has worked in financial advising since 2001, including roles as a financial consultant and trust officer.

Richards most recently served as a portfolio manager for U.S. Bank and has 10 years of portfolio management experience after earning a bachelor’s in finance from Missouri State University and an MBA from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas.

Ken “Wilson” Childers was hired as an account executive for iHeartMedia & Entertainment Inc. in its Springfield multiplatform group. He has 20 years of experience in broadcast media, starting as a DJ for KOSC in Marshfield and later working as head of promotions for five stations. With a bachelor’s in communications from Central Methodist University, Childers is targeting the automotive market for broadcast and digital marketing.

Missouri Broadcasters Association selected College of the Ozarks campus radio station KCOZ for four awards during an awards banquet at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach. The students were recognized with certificates of merit in the categories of social media – for coordinating multiple social media outlets; promotion – for producing “KCOZ Summer Song”; public service announcement – for a campaign called Daylight Savings; and documentary/public affairs – for a segment called “Here’s What’s Happening.” More than 200 awards were presented to radio and TV stations statewide.

Nonprofit
Henderson Media LLC was named a Business of the Year by the Missouri Community Service Commission during the Show Me Service Awards in Jefferson City. The honor, which recognizes for-profit businesses for volunteer work in their communities, credited owner Matthew Henderson for donating or discounting services to area nonprofits. Also awarded locally among 27 recipients statewide were Sue Dyle, of Buffalo, as Senior of the Year; Jacquie Howell, of Purdy, as AmeriCorps Member of the Year; and Robert Pankau, of Verona, as AmeriCorps Seniors Member of the Year.

Leadership Springfield appointed six board members for the 2023-24 program year: Dustin Bobbitt, innovation program manager at FORVIS LLP; Amy DeMelo, president of Cox College; Scott Hill, a Springfield Police Department sergeant; Judith Martínez-Garcia, a Missouri State University associate professor; Megan Neyer, owner of the southwest Missouri franchise of 2B Organized; and Jhasmine Watson, Care to Learn’s director of operations and administration. Its newly named executive committee comprises President Chris Hoeman, Springfield’s assistant city attorney; Past President Stephanie Wan, assistant attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office; Vice President Diana Tyndall, owner of Modern Day Marketing LLC; Treasurer Gretchen Russell, tax manager at KPM CPAs & Advisors; and Secretary Brad Coy, co-founder of Impact Recruiting Partners LLC.

The Salvation Army received a $50,000 grant from the Timken Foundation of Canton. The funds will go toward the purchase of an emergency generator to power the local chapter’s entire building during outages.
