Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley obtained a default judgment against a contractor who allegedly duped southwest Missouri customers.
The $27,776 judgment was obtained on behalf of four customers who were allegedly defrauded by Josh Luttrell and his companies that operate under the name SNL Fencing and Dirtwork, according to a news release issued yesterday by Hawley’s office.
The Lawrence County court judgment prohibits Luttrell and his companies from operating fence construction businesses or taking upfront payments for services.
Luttrell, who entered building contracts for fences at ranches, farms and homes in rural southwest Missouri, either did not construct the fences or did a poor job, requiring repairs, Hawley alleges.
“These defendants exploited the trust of Missouri ranchers,” Hawley said in the release. “My office will never stand by when Missourians are defrauded.”
Attempts to reach Luttrell were unsuccessful this morning.
Complaints against Luttrell and SNL Fencing date back to at least mid-2016, when KSPR published an article about customers losing money to a supposed “con artist.”
