Springfield-based Hamra Enterprises LLC has expanded its footprint in the Southern United States through an acquisition.
The company is buying 24 Panera Bread restaurants in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Tennessee from fellow franchisee CSC Investments, according to a news release. Officials declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal.
"We are excited to be adding 24 locations that were developed by another great Panera Bread owner who has been a Panera Bread franchisee for 24 years, and I am excited to have the employees of CSC join our team and looking forward to supporting them in their business to serve guests and the communities they do business in," Hamra Enterprises President and CEO Mike Hamra said in the release.
The acquisition represents Hamra Enterprises' first restaurants in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana. With the purchase, Hamra Enterprises has 195 restaurants in 11 states under the Panera Bread, Wendy’s and Noodle & Co. brands.
Earlier this year, Hamra Enterprises signed on as a franchisee of Caribou Coffee, with plans to open two dozen stores in the Springfield, Kansas City and St. Louis markets, and the company opened a Wendy’s in Mount Vernon, its first restaurant in the town, according to past reporting.
Evergreen Hair House opened; the Ozark Chamber of Commerce moved to a new home; and Dirk’s Tavern LLC got its start on C-Street.
