GM files $28M breach-of-contract suit

General Motors is seeking $28 million from automotive battery maker Johnson Controls in a breach-of-contract lawsuit.

In the suit, GM alleges Johnson Controls failed to pay all costs related to a series of settlement agreements the companies reached regarding GM's 2014-16 model year vehicles with Johnson Controls-supplied batteries.

“We have fully complied with all of our contractual obligations to General Motors and intend to continue to do so in the future,” Johnson Controls said in a statement. “While we truly value our long-term relationship and partnership, we intend to defend the case vigorously.”
