Chipmaker Nvidia stock plunges after missing forecasts

Chipmaker Nvidia's stock fell by as much as 19 percent yesterday after the company reported its third-quarter earnings.

Revenue, while up 21 percent year over year, came to $3.18 billion, short of the $3.24 billion analysts expected.

Earnings per share, excluding certain items, were $1.84, beating the $1.71 analyts were seeking.
