Springfield-based Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. has committed $100,000 in challenge grant funding to 10 nonprofits.
The nonprofits have until Aug. 15 to raise $15,000 in order to receive a $10,000 grant from CFO for their endowments, according to a news release.
The nonprofits are:
• Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks.
• Cabool Education Foundation.
• Cape Girardeau Public Schools Foundation.
• Care to Learn.
• Christos House Inc.
• Jasper County CASA.
• Ozark Greenways Inc.
• Springfield Dream Center.
• Springfield Sister Cities Association.
• Watershed (formerly Watershed Committee of the Ozarks).
The challenge grants are part of CFO's 50th anniversary celebration this year.
“We often say that we’re in the forever business, and endowments are the perfect example,” said Brian Fogle, CFO’s president and CEO, in the release. “Endowments ensure that these nonprofits will have resources to serve our communities for the next 50 years and beyond.”
The endowments, managed by CFO, allow organizations to use around 4% of funds annually as needed.
