Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. has appointed a new CEO.

Winter Kinne, an 18-year CFO veteran who currently is vice president of development, is scheduled to start Nov. 20 as president and CEO, according to a news release. She succeeds Brian Fogle, CFO's leader since 2008 who is set to retire in early 2024. He’ll assist with the transition in the interim period.

“The board diligently and thoroughly conducted a nationwide search process to find the right candidate to take the CFO into its next stage of growth and development. Winter is the right person to lead CFO into the future and build on the success achieved under Brian Fogle’s exceptional leadership,” said Dean Thompson, CFO board chair, in the release. “Winter is a strategic leader with a strong track record of building trust with our donors and community partners.”

Phoenix, Arizona-based Scion Executive Search, which was hired to conduct the search, had about 400 individual contacts in the process, said Aaron Scott, director of communications for CFO.

Kinne is slated to become CFO's fourth president in its 50-year history.

"I am deeply passionate about our mission and work, and I am so excited to see how we can continue to inspire and support philanthropy in central and southern Missouri," she said in the release.

CFO has $417 million in assets held across its network of donors, nonprofit partners and 54 affiliate foundations.

Kinne took on her most recent role with CFO in 2017, according to the release. A Mount Vernon native, she is a Drury University graduate, fellow of the Charitable Estate Planning Institute and a member of the Greene County Estate Planning Council, among other leadership roles.
