Ariake opens at former Logan's Roadhouse site

Ariake LLC, a Japanese restaurant at the site of the former Logan's Roadhouse on East Battlefield Road, has opened for business.

A June 23 post on Facebook from the restaurant signaled the opening.

"We are dedicated to the details of every part of Ariake, from the food to the decor! We can’t wait for you all to come see it!" restaurant officials said in a separate Facebook post last week.

Ariake is the latest restaurant from John Jung and his wife, Young, who also started Haruno, Kai After Dark, Koriya and Karai, according to past reporting. Jung, who could not be reached for comment by deadline, began teasing Ariake on Facebook in fall 2022 after renovation work had been ongoing for months at the 8,000-square-foot property, 1110 E. Battlefield Road.

Ariake serves sushi and uses robatayaki, a Japanese culinary method similar to barbecue that involves fireside cooking, according to past reporting.

The restaurant's menu posted to its Facebook page includes a variety of sushi and nigiri, entrees such as sea bass and filet mignon, and desserts.
