Minimally viable product …
Exterior house, deck, fence and concrete washing.

Problem solving …
Time has a way of making your siding, deck, fence and concrete take on an aged, worn look. Our highly trained house-wash specialists bring houses back to life.

Seed money …
Self-funded an undisclosed sum. Our partnership was created over our past experiences coming together. Craig had owned a house-wash business for six years during and after college, then sold it. Alex already owned the pressure-washing equipment from a previous venture of washing the city buses. We were involved in Rotary together and both attended 1 Million Cups. Simply chatting over coffee, we realized we have all the makings of a new business.

Hurdles overcome …
We both run other successful businesses, so having the time to build this business is most difficult. Craig owns a Shelter Insurance agency, and Alex owns Springfield Parking Co., offering valet parking and lot management, and Metro Shine, a waterless car wash system. Seldom can we get together in person, but we always make time for a business breakfast every few weeks. We talk often by phone and text. Alex has an office manager for his other companies, and she also serves as office manager for the house-wash business.

Next phase …
For this year, continue our quick growth and brand development. The future plan is to build a business model with intent to franchise.

Pivot …
We have begun advertising more on Facebook. And we’ve added higher quality training for our marketing agents who canvas neighborhoods to sell our house-wash services.

Worst advice received …
It’ll be easy!

Greatest need …
We’re looking for mildewed, dirty exterior house siding, decks, fences and concrete!

Food for thought …
You can’t know what you don’t know, until you have the experiences to know it. So learn from every experience.
