Tie & Timber Beer Co.’s soft opening today makes it the sixth microbrewery to launch in the Queen City.
Located at 1451 E. Cherry St. in the Rountree neighborhood, Tie & Timber is debuting with 10 beers and 20 taps, as well as six tanks, said co-owner Curtis Marshall. Cider, wine and root beer also is on tap. The company plans to increase its beer count to 16 within a few months, he said.
“We are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to Springfield’s burgeoning craft beer industry and the thousands of craft beer lovers in our city,” Marshall said via Facebook Messenger. “And what better time than now with our city thriving musically, artistically and economically?”
Marshall, who owns the venture with Jennifer Leonard, said Tie & Timber also plans a Rountree-resident invitation event on April 12 and a grand opening on April 14. A tasting also was held April 6.
Along East Cherry Street in Rountree, near Ott’s Pasta and Imo’s Pizza, Marshall and Leonard renovated two vacant buildings that had once housed Kokomo Tans and Ozarks Area Community Action Corp.’s Head Start program.
Tie & Timber announced its plans in February 2017.
In Springfield, Tie & Timber joins Mother’s Brewing Co. LLC, Springfield Brewing Co., White River Brewing Co. LLC, 4 by 4 Brewing Co. LLC and Lost Signal Brewing Co. Another, dubbed Prehistoric Brewing Co. LLC, previously announced plans were in the works, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Home-brewery supply store Show-Me Brewing also operates at 1925 E. Bennett St.
