When Rosette Studios LLC relocates this summer, an operational shift is planned.
Bridget Koonce, who owns the 214 S. Campbell Ave. shop downtown with her husband Charles, said June 1 is the targeted relocation date to a newly remodeled building at 1640 St. Louis St. They’re close to finalizing a lease for undisclosed terms.
“It’s going to be completely different and exciting,” she said.
At the 600-square-foot St. Louis Street space near Brick & Mortar Coffee, Rosette Studios will solely focus on its own products and services, including laser engraving, promotional items, vinyl decals and custom merchandise, such as nameplates and awards, for businesses. Koonce said the shop currently offers products, such as prints, from around 80 artists, as well as featured galleries, but that part of the business won’t transfer with the move.
“We’re getting too busy to have the store, too,” she said, pointing to plans for a showroom with limited hours at the new location. “The laser cutting and engraving is so busy.”
In addition to providing products for local businesses, Koonce said the move would allow Rosette Studios to focus more on e-commerce, as the company’s current website sales portal is slated to be upgraded. The company also will focus on wholesale accounts, she said.
“We can create a new and unique product that fits the business,” she said.
The Koonces three years ago purchased art gallery and boutique Arts & Letters LLC from Meganne Rosen O'Neal and Laura Provance, and their business first operated as Rosette Studios Arts & Letters at the downtown space. When the company moved into laser engraving and other product lines, Bridget Koonce said they dropped the Arts & Letters verbiage from the name.
