OTC pens articulation agreement with SBU

Ozarks Technical Community College signed a pact to make it easier for students to gain further post-secondary education at Southwest Baptist University.

Through an articulation agreement finalized Thursday, OTC students who earn an associate of arts degree can more easily move on to SBU for bachelor’s degrees, according to a news release.

“Many of our students have transferred to SBU in the past to pursue bachelor’s degrees. By formalizing the relationship, we are making it a smooth transition for our students, and they can be confident that their credits will transfer,” OTC Chancellor Hal Higdon said in the release.

With the latest agreement, OTC has articulation deals in place with more than 30 four-year colleges, including Missouri State and Drury universities.

OTC’s associate degree programs are in behavioral science, business, criminal justice, English, general education, social work and teaching, according to the release.

For SBU, the partnership is the third signed in less than a month. In May, the university announced partnerships with Culver-Stockton College in Canton and Truman State University in Kirksville, where SBU students can transfer for their master’s degrees in athletic training.
