, a co-owner of the Pasta Express in Fox Grape Plaza, bought out partner Matt Krupa on Jan. 1 for an undisclosed amount. Miles and Krupa also had owned the Pasta Express in Battlefield Plaza until selling it in December to General Manager Ed Quasius. At the time, Krupa solely owned the third store in the local chain, on West Republic Road. The quick-service Italian restaurants also offer full-service catering. At Fox Grape’s 3250 E. Battlefield Road store, Miles said he is in a 10-year lease with R.B. Murray Co. for the 4,000-square-foot space for undisclosed terms. His store employs 13. Miles started working in restaurants at 15 years old and, now 33, said he has been involved in ownership of Pasta Express for eight years. Miles said he and Krupa still work closely together in the company’s brand and operations.

Ozarks Entertainment LLC
Marc and Jenni Backes on May 11 bought Ozarks Entertainment LLC from Robert and Monica DeVore. Jenni Backes said they acquired casino equipment, as well as bingo, karaoke and DJ equipment, an outdoor movie screen, green screen and a photo booth, for an undisclosed price. Robert DeVore co-founded Ozarks Entertainment in 2010, also offering limousine and valet services, tents and inflatables, but Backes said those services were no longer active. She previously worked in information technology for 25 years, mostly for HealthcareFirst Inc., and will run Ozarks Entertainment from their Nixa home. Marc Backes works in sales at KY3. With 50 part-time employees, Ozarks Entertainment currently has weekly charity poker contracts with Sertoma clubs and others, and another 15 annual events contracted. Focusing on charity poker games, the Backeses launched OEPoker.com, featuring a tournament calendar, and created a Facebook page. She said rates are $150-$225 per table for casino events.

U-Haul Company of Missouri
All Tune and Lube Total Car Care signed on as a neighborhood dealer in March for U-Haul Company of Missouri. At 850 E. Kearney St., Larry and Jacqueline Spears’ shop offers U-Haul trucks, trailers, pre-tow inspections and towing equipment. Larry Spears said no financial agreement was necessary to become a dealer. A new feature for the dealer is the U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 program that employs live-verification technology to pick up and return vehicles using only a smartphone and online account. Lockboxes are at the shop for after-hours drop-offs. He said moving supplies and boxes are not in stock but ordered upon request. Spears has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and information technology management.
