Park Central Market
Park Central Market opened March 9 at 331 Park Central East, Ste. 100, on the ground floor of Sky Eleven. Organized as Park East Market LLC, business partners Scott and Raven Cotton and Mark and Rebecca Martin created a convenience store with 2,700 square feet of inventory. Located next door to Druff’s grilled cheese restaurant, Park Central Market has grocery and beer coolers, as well as Ocean Zen sushi and prepared foods by Simply Delicious Catering. General Manager Scott Cotton said the ownership group identified a need for easily accessed to-go snacks and beverages in the downtown area. Last summer, Price Cutter closed its downtown Bistro Market. Raven Cotton operates The Dress shop across the street, in The U, and Scott Cotton previously worked as a photographer. The Martins, investor owners, work in real estate and home development. Cotton said Park Central Market employs 15. He declined to disclose startup costs and lease terms.

Team C Construction
Coryell Enterprises Inc. started Team C Construction LLC on Oct. 18 to handle general contracting work for Coryell family projects. President Sam M. Coryell said the entity was spun out to limit the job-site liabilities of the parent company and to offer partner opportunities to key employees. Team C Construction’s roughly 12 staff members have begun working under the new name on the $11 million 55-plus community Verandas Vistas, and Coryell said a few more on the docket are the $10 million Trail’s Bend apartments at Jefferson Avenue and Sunset Street, and another 55-plus development, west of Campbell Avenue, on Sunset. Farther out is a job in Wichita, Kansas. “It’s the first time we’ve gone outside of Springfield,” Coryell said. Other recent projects the team’s completed under Coryell Enterprises are the $12 million Township 28 in Galloway Village and the $10 million Coryell Commons in south Springfield. Coryell said he capitalized Team C with $75,000 in seed money.
