Olsson Associates Inc. tweaked its name and is rolling out new branding.
The Lincoln, Nebraska-based engineering and design firm, which operates a Springfield office at 550 St. Louis St., is now doing business as Olsson, according to a news release.
“Our new name pays homage to our history and will help us communicate a simplified and clear message as we continue to grow and expand our geographic footprint,” Olsson CEO Brad Strittmatter said in the release. “We’re a full-service firm, and we want everyone to know us by one name and as one Olsson, committed to the purpose behind every project we do.”
The company’s logo was changed to match, resulting in lower-case green and yellow “Olsson” branding.
Recent local projects by Olsson include civil engineering work for Mercy Bolivar Multi-Specialty Clinic, The Township Senior Living, Wildwood Plaza and Holiday Inn Express & Suites. It also performed engineering work for the Mercy hospital in Joplin after the 2011 tornado destroyed the health care system’s facility.
In April, Olsson made its debut on Engineering News-Record’s annual list of the top 500 design firms. Olsson ranked 98th on the list, based on revenue for designed services in 2017. Revenue figures are not disclosed to the public.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
