Architecture
Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. hired Brenda Horn as an accounting coordinator. Previously, she worked as a receptionist, an office manager and an accounting coordinator for several construction businesses as well as an automotive dealership.

Banking & Financing
Guaranty Bank hired Dee King as a corporate services development officer and Jessica Johnson as a coordinator for the federal Bank Security Act. King has a decade of service in hospitality, most recently with O’Reilly Hospitality Management, and Johnson has eight years of banking experience.

Money magazine selected Simmons Bank as the Best Bank in Missouri. The magazine’s list of state winners focused on banks with easily waived or no monthly fees and low or no ATM fees, while also reflecting customers’ needs for both digital banking capabilities and access to physical banking locations.

Education
The Missouri Association of School Administrators named Nixa Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Kleinsmith as Superintendent of the Year. He has served students in Missouri public schools for 17 years, having joined Nixa in 2000.

Missouri State University professor Paul Durham received the Bronze Bear, the school’s highest honor. An international pain expert, he has played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of the Center for Biomedical and Life Sciences in the Jordan Valley Innovation Center, recruiting scientists and developing corporate partnerships. Bronze Bear recipients are recommended by the university president and administrative council, prior to going before the MSU Board of Governors for approval.

Health Care
The CoxHealth Child Life department in the Dee Ann White Women’s and Children’s Hospital became the first
in the region, and third in Missouri, to achieve clinical internship accreditation by the Association of Child Life Professionals. Only 42 programs in the United States have earned the accreditation, and CoxHealth’s extends through 2022.

Insurance
Connell Insurance Inc. hired Rebecca Chandler as family lines account manager. She has 12 years of title experience and previously worked for Sumday Vacations timeshare transfer company.

Manufacturing
The Missouri Association of Manufacturers named SRC Holdings Corp. the Member of the Year during the 2017 Made in Missouri Leadership Awards in St. Louis. Other local winners were Holloway America, the Member Momentum Award; Cox HealthPlans, the Outstanding Member Program Award; Wiese USA Inc., the Outstanding Member Benefit Award; and NorthStar Battery Co. LLC, the Engineering, Innovation & Design Award.

The Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association named Springfield-based Hiland Dairy the 2017 Company of the Year. Founded in 1938, Hiland Dairy operates 49 distribution centers and 13 plants, including one each in Springfield and Kansas City.

Municipal
Branson Parks and Recreation Department received a $4,000 grant from the Skaggs Legacy Endowment to fund athletic program participation for area children. The grant was one of 19 awarded by the endowment to support programs that improve health and wellness.

The Branson Board of Aldermen promoted Police Chief Stanley Dobbins to city administrator, following the departure of former city administrator William Malinen. Dobbins has served in dual roles as interim city administrator and chief since May. He has 37 years of law enforcement experience.
