Edward Jones named financial adviser Weston Kissee as a principal. With Edward Jones for nine years, the firm chose him among 43,000 associates in the United States and Canada to join the company’s 384 principals.
BKD LLP named Bryan Callahan as leader of its data and analytics practice. His specialties include forensic investigations, fraud prevention and detection, litigation support, continuous auditing, internal control assessments and risk management.
OakStar Bank promoted Renee Samuels to executive vice president and chief human resources officer. She has 17 years of experience in the field and was the bank’s human resources director since 2013.
Education
Drury University recognized Publications and Creative Services Director Don Ameye with its 2017 Distinguished Staff Award, honoring his leadership and service during a more than 30-year tenure with the university.
The University of Missouri Extension Council appointed nine people to fill two-year term seats: Greg Boehne, Karen Dowdy, Morgan Ash, Sam Snider, Larry Adams, Ann Hall, Chris Schulze, Rick Stenberg and Brandon Hebbert.
The Springfield Hotel Lodging Association presented hospitality scholarships to Madison Kliethermes and Allison Heimsath, who each received $1,500 scholarships at Missouri State University. Jeff Woodward, Jessica Mezzacapa and Alexa Verploeg each received $750 scholarships at Ozarks Technical Community College from the association, and Amber Archer received a $1,000 award, as well as a summer internship at The Cheshire Hotel of St. Louis.
Infrastructure
The Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association named historic Commercial Street as one of its 2018 Great Places in Missouri, a program that started in 2014 to honor neighborhoods, streets and public spaces throughout the state with exceptional character.
Insurance
Beth Kensinger joined Ollis/Akers/Arney as a commercial account manager. She previously worked at Bohrer, Croxdale & McAdoo Inc. as an underwriting assistant.
Nonprofit
Trysta Herzog was named vice president of community engagement at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks. She previously served as director of communications for Greene County and as a strategic communications specialist for Missouri State University’s College of Arts and Letters.
The Show Me Christian County Board of Directors hired Ozark Chamber of Commerce Director Andrea Sitzes as its first executive director, effective in April. She has nine years of experience in customer service, marketing and business development.
