Springfield Regional Opera Artistic Director Michael Spyres was nominated in the International Opera Awards for best solo album of the year, best full opera recording and male singer of the year. He was the only performer worldwide with three nominations.

KPM CPAs PC hired Kaleigh Cole and Megan Townsley as administrative assistants and Ross Wiseman as a staff accountant.

Hannah Montgomery and Matthew Randolph, accountants at KPM CPAs, completed certified public accountant examinations to earn their CPA licenses.

KPM CPAs promoted CPAs Rebecca Friedrich, Angela Rebmann and Jessica Stokes to shareholders. Friedrich has 12 years of audit experience with clients in the nonprofit, education and governmental industries. Rebmann has 16 years of experience providing accounting and audit services to manufacturing, wholesale and retail clients. Stokes has 14 years of accounting experience, specializing in nonprofit and governmental audit services.

Croley Insurance and Financial Inc. President Trevor Croley was appointed to the Missouri Chamber of Commerce’s Health Care Policy Council.

People Centric Consulting Group LLC moved co-founder Don Harkey into the CEO role to replace Randy Mayes, who sold his interest in the company. Harkey is now its sole shareholder. The company also promoted Chief Business Officer Diana Day to chief operating officer.

Integrity Home Care Inc. promoted Whitney Burns to vice president of human resources. She joined the company in 2012 as human resources assistant. Burns has an MBA with emphasis in human resource management from Columbia College and also is certified by the Society of Human Resource Management.

Ann McDowell
was appointed to the Ollis/Akers/Arney Board of Directors. A Branson native, she has three decades of experience in management, marketing and community service as an independent consultant and in roles with Herschend Family Entertainment properties.

Springfield City Council confirmed Greg Lewis, Chad Drake, Rory Krueger and James “Randy” Scott to the city’s Building Trades Examination and Certification Board.

Council also confirmed Jennifer McClure and Missy Riley to the Mayor’s Commission for Children, as well as Francie Wolff and Steve Largent to the Mayor’s Commission on Human Rights and Community Relations.

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft awarded Springfield-Greene County Library a $19,770 grant to partner with Dream Center, Fairbanks Community Center, Roberson Community School, York Elementary, Salvation Army, Bartley-Decatur Neighborhood Center and Weller Community Garden for an all-ages summer reading program.

The Downtown Springfield Association presented its Tom Billionis Lifetime Achievement Award to Rick McQueary and family for their contributions downtown through Hotel Vandivort and the History Museum on the Square. In addition, the first Downtown Awards and Auction honored Vecino Group as Developer of the Year and IntrinsiQ as Business of the Year. DSA also recognized Lost Signal Brewing Co. with the New Hospitality of the Year Award, the Originate co-working space as New Office of the Year, Brina Thomas of Five Pound Apparel as Urban Legend-in-the-Making and The Downtown Church as Volunteer of the Year.
