Blaire Chrouser
joined Bohl, House & Samek CPAs as a tax manager. She has seven years of combined public accounting and managerial accounting experience. Chrouser handles IRS negotiations and payment plans, as well as preparing and reviewing tax returns.

Natalie McNish, senior internal auditor for the Missouri State University Office of Internal Audit and Compliance, earned certification through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She has worked with the Missouri State Auditor’s Office and the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Jeff Phillips
joined Heavy Construction Laborers Union Local 663 as communications and outreach manager. He has 30 years of experience in broadcast news, including nearly 10 years at KY3, at ESPN’s headquarters in Connecticut and stations in Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Washington.

Education
The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded Missouri State University’s Darr College of Agriculture grants totaling $79,356 for three projects. The funding is meant to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops at the school’s Mountain Grove campus.

Entertainment
Silver Dollar City’s An Old Time Christmas was voted as the nation’s Best Theme Park Holiday Event through a USA Today 10 Best Poll. Other finalists included events at Disney World, SeaWorld, Dollywood and Six Flags.

Law
The Missouri & Kansas 2017 edition of Super Lawyers recognized Strong-Garner-Bauer PC President Steve Garner as a Top 10 Lawyer, marking five consecutive years for the honor in both states. He’s been selected as a Top 100 Lawyer for more than 10 years.

Attorneys Lauren Hawkins and Lindsey Lund were elected as partners with Husch Blackwell LLP. As a corporate and transactional law attorney, Hawkins’ practice is primarily focused on buying and selling businesses and business assets. She earned a Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in 2005. Lund’s practice focuses on transactional work, including commercial real estate. She earned a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 2007.

Nonprofit
Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri hired Sara Carmer as chief program officer. Most recently serving as clinical director of quality management with Preferred Family Healthcare in north central Missouri, Carmer supervises Catholic Charities’ programs throughout 39 Missouri counties.
