Nebraska firm buys Springfield apartment complex

Omaha, Nebraska-based Metonic Real Estate Solutions purchased a sprawling apartment complex in Chesterfield Village along Kansas Expressway.

Metonic Chief Operating Officer Adam Kirshenbaum this morning said the company closed Sept. 14 on the acquisition of Lake Shore Apartments, 3660 S. Cox Ave. He declined to disclose financial terms of the deal — its first in the Springfield market — or the name of the seller.

The seller, according to Greene County assessor records, is Lake Shore Apartments LLC. The entity is organized by Scott Albertson, of Golden, Colorado, according to a Missouri secretary of state filing.

“It’s a great location in a market that we’re excited to be in,” Kirshenbaum said. “We think it has a very good amenity package. It offers a lot to potential residents in the market.”

Albertson said the complex’s 396 apartments are 96 percent occupied. Greene County assessor records show the property, including a lake in front, spans more than 24 acres and has a 2018 appraised value of $22 million. Amenities include a dog park, pools, hot tub, picnic area, a 24-hour gym and a grill station, according to the property’s website.

Metonic has nearly 8,500 multifamily units and nearly 2 million square feet of commercial space in its portfolio, according to information provided by a company official.
