Mostly Serious relocating to Classy Llama space in Galloway

Classy Llama Studios LLC’s purchase this summer of offices in Chesterfield Village freed up space in Galloway Village for Mostly Serious LLC to take over.

Spencer Harris, director of operations for Mostly Serious, said the company is planning an early October move to 4064 S. Lone Pine Ave. The firm is occupying one of three buildings that formerly housed Classy Llama’s headquarters. Harris said Mostly Serious signed a lease for undisclosed terms with Christina Chanter for the main building, which spans roughly 4,500 square feet.

Harris said Mostly Serious is running out of space at its current office downtown, 334 E. Walnut St. There, the company occupies about 2,500 square feet.

“We’ve been downtown for a number of years now and we’ve been really happy,” he said, pointing to Mostly Serious co-founder Jarad Johnson’s work in revitalization efforts via the Downtown Springfield Association. “Galloway looks like a new and emerging community where we can do something similar. It looked like a really good opportunity to get into that community.”

Prior to digital commerce firm Classy Llama’s purchase of businessman Bob Noble’s Chesterfield Village offices, Harris said Mostly Serious already was looking for a new office space elsewhere in downtown, as well as on Commercial Street and in Galloway Village.

The plans came together with Classy Llama’s relocation. A bonus, Harris said, is the Galloway Village space already was designed with a “creative, collaborative team in mind.” He said the office has an open-floor plan with closed breakout rooms.

“The bones of the space were very much built for what we do,” he said.

Mostly Serious’ relocation comes as the firm is in growth mode. The company has added four employees this year, bringing its total to 11, with plans for another worker, Harris said.

Mostly Serious, a digital agency specializing in websites, research and marketing, last year increased its revenue by 40 percent and doubled its client base, he said, declining to disclose specific figures. Recent contracts include a new website for Brooklyn, New York-based ACES Baseball, which Harris said is the second-largest baseball agency in the world. The company also is working on a project for Burrell Behavioral Health, among other contracts.
