A day after a court judgment was filed against its operators, south-side restaurant Mi Mi’s Place shuttered.

In the Aug. 6 ruling, Judge Jerry Harmison Jr. of the Greene County Circuit Court’s Associate Division awarded nearly $27,500 to South National Centers LLC, the owner of the 3512 S. National Ave. Bradford Center, where Mi Mi’s Place operated, according to court documents.

The judgment against Mi Mi’s Place operator CSNB Enterprises LLC and Colin, Suanne and Nichole Bowen, as well as Bethany Stone, comprises more than $26,000 in back rent along with late charges and attorney fees. The suit also ordered Mi Mi’s Place to vacate the Bradford Center.

Attempts to reach Nichole Bowen have been unsuccessful.

“Today comes with sad news; we have closed our doors,” an Aug. 7 Facebook post by Mi Mi’s Place reads. “It wasn't an easy decision but none the less a decision that we had to make. Please pray for our employees and us! Thank you, Nichole, Colin and Sue!”

Bowen, along with her parents Colin and Suanne and a silent partner, purchased the former Mangia: A Nonna's Italian Kitchen in January from Nonna's owner Shawn Kraft. Bowen, who had been head chef at Mangia, reopened the restaurant as Mi Mi’s Place in February, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

Nonna's and Kraft are not named in the lawsuit, according to court documents.
