Lowther Johnson names new managing partner

Posted online

Lowther Johnson Attorneys at Law LLC named a new managing partner as its current leader prepares to join the banking industry.

Matt Growcock is slated to succeed Michael Miller, who’s scheduled to become chief operating officer and general counsel of Mid-Missouri Bank in early May, according to a news release. Lowther Johnson attorney Greggory Groves said via email Growcock would succeed Miller after the latter executive exits for Mid-Missouri Bank.

“Although I am excited about the next chapter in my life, I will certainly miss the great group of people at Lowther Johnson,” Miller said in the release. “I have worked closely with Matt over the last seven years. The transition will be incredibly smooth, and I am confident that Matt will make an excellent managing member.”

Growcock, who joined Springfield-based Lowther Johnson in 2012, specializes in commercial and civil litigation, as well as advisement on general business and employment issues for local companies. Clients range from small businesses to Fortune 500 firms, according to the release. Growcock also was in the 2012 class of Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees.

“I consider it a great honor that our firm is trusting me with the privilege of serving as managing member,” Growcock said in the release. “We look forward to continuing to provide outstanding legal services as we meet the needs of individuals and businesses in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas.”

Lowther Johnson ranked No. 1 last year on Springfield Business Journal’s list of the area’s largest law firms. As of April 30, 2018, the company reported 20 local attorneys and total staff exceeding 60 people.
