Google has a $1 billion plan to build up to 20,000 new homes in the Bay Area of California.
The company plans to seek the rezoning of office and industrial land it already owns to build $750 million worth of affordable housing over the next 10 years.
Google also plans to launch a $250 million investment fund to incentivize real estate developers to build at least 5,000 affordable homes.
