Project description: After a car wash was demolished, crews began erecting a retail center in its place. Business partners Tony Hopkins and James Tillman, organizers of THJT LLC, are building the shell structure for up to six tenants. While bay sizes can range between 1,637 square feet and 3,400 square feet, no tenants have been signed, said Brett Simmons, project manager with SBI. “We’re hopeful to have some by the time it’s completed,” Simmons said. With other partners, Tillman has developed additional retail centers around town and brought the First Watch cafe franchise to Springfield.
