Project description: Thermo King of Springfield LLC co-owner Wayne Smith said the dealership is moving from leased space at 1353 N. West Bypass to a parcel just east of the Partnership Industrial Center. He said building sizes are about the same, but the new layout is slightly different to accommodate the sales, service and parts departments for some 31 employees. Thermo King handles temperature control equipment for the trucking industry. Smith co-owns the Thermo King dealership with John Cooper of The Harry Cooper Supply Co. and an equity partner, Tim Fry. The group also has ownership of the Thermo King dealerships in Joplin and Tulsa, Smith said. Near the Strafford interchange for Interstate 44, other companies in the area are Peterbilt of Springfield, Springfield Yamaha, Arrowhead Building Supply and Springfield Sign and Graphics.
