Bass Pro puts planned New York store on hold

A planned Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Victor, New York, is on hold.

“We have temporarily placed this project on hold to assess our plans and timing,” said Katie Mitchell, communications manager for Bass Pro, in a statement. “We remain in close contact with local officials and developers and may well proceed with the project at a future time to be determined. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience as we complete this review.”

John DiMarco II, president of the DiMarco Group that is developing the 96-acre site, said talks are ongoing with Bass Pro. He said Bass Pro's purchase of Cabela's is the reason for the delay.
