Axe throwing comes to Branson Landing

Posted online

The axe-throwing trend has targeted Branson Landing.

Lake cruise operator Main Street Marina — owned by Larry and Lianne Milton — added a new venture called Landing Axes to its offerings on May 23 after a soft opening on May 18, said Carrie Green, who handles group sales for the marina on Lake Taneycomo.

“It’s just an added attraction here at the marina,” Green said. “It just seems to be the new upcoming trend. With the crowd that we have here in Branson and at the dock, it seemed to be a perfect fit.”

Green was unsure how much the owners spent renovating an upper-level room above Main Street Marina’s main entrance for Landing Axes.

Landing Axes is a member of the World Axe Throwing League, which has safety rules that include the prohibition of intoxicated players and a requirement that players wear closed-toed shoes, according to a news release.

Additionally, the venture located south of Bass Pro Shops at the Branson Landing has dart throwing. Plans to someday host tournaments are in the works.

Green said Landing Axes has eight lanes for axe throwing and two dart boards.

In Springfield, the axe-throwing attraction trend has caught on with the opening of TommyHawks Axe House in March 2018 and the launch of Craft Axe Throwing in August last year.
