Ascend Dental expands to Branson West

Springfield’s Ascend Dental Design LLC added a second location after buying a practice from a retired dentist in Branson West.

Drs. Jeff Dorman and Derek Magers, the owners of Ascend Dental, in September bought the book of business comprising more than 800 patients from Dr. Frank Schmidt, who retired in August. The practice reopened Sept. 18 as Ascend Dental, according to a news release issued yesterday. Financial terms of the deal, as well as the cost of renovations, were not disclosed.

Located at a retail center at 18020 State Highway 13, Ste. 3, Ascend Dental’s new office underwent a renovation process that included new paint, flooring, decor, equipment and a dental laboratory.

“As we expand our practice into the Branson West area, we’re looking forward to bringing our comprehensive dentistry services into a community that largely didn’t have prior access to them,” Magers said in the release. “Our ability to carry out a comprehensive scope of dental services in our new location will minimize the need for our Branson West patients to travel, so we think they’re going to enjoy the convenience of getting quality care close to home.”

Ascend Dental opened in 1985 as Dorman Family Dental. The practice changed names to Ascend in 2015 after Magers came on board, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
