Michael Gandy has changed inside and out since 2015.
After undergoing a sleeve gastrectomy surgery in 2016, he’s lost more than 180 pounds. The weight loss has empowered him to get back into music, and he’s currently involved with a band called Failing Minnesota. That same year, he and his wife Lauren had Gibson, who turned 2 years old in 2018.
At work, Arvest Bank promoted Gandy in 2015 to his current role of merchant services officer.
“It allows me to go back home sometimes,” he says of the job split between the Springfield market and his hometown of Joplin. “We handle any sort of credit card processing for our Arvest Bank customers.”
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
