At Hogan Land Title Co., Emily Laurie has paved her own path.
When Laurie started as director of marketing, she says company Vice President Keith Chaffin did not foresee the leadership role she would go on to create. She evolved the job beyond marketing into recruitment, and since has looked for, interviewed and hired 10 of the company’s 60 employees.
“Hiring was not my job duty from the beginning, but as the director of marketing, it was important for me to put the right hire in the right spot in order to maintain a cohesive operation,” Laurie says.
She’s also worked to start the Calendar for a Cause initiative for Hogan Land Title to highlight local nonprofits, and she succeeded last year in a personal goal to launch her own side business, Laurie Marketing LLC.
